Sungai Wang Plaza,KL

The long-standing landmark at Jalan Bukit Bintang, Sungei Wang Plaza, has a wide variety of things to attract people despite competition from other ultra modern malls.
For more than 30 years, this shopping mall was the “it” place for the latest consumer items — long before other major malls like Suria KLCC and MidValley Megamall came into the picture.
Despite the competition, Sungai Wang Plaza has managed to retain its charm and until today, it still is the place to go hunting for certain types of goods.
The mall is also known for bargain priced products as well as otherwise hard-to-find tailoring and repair services.
Shopper Elleana Abdul Rahim shared: “What I love most about Sungei Wang Plaza is the prices of clothes. They are really cheap and are always up-to-date with the latest trends. Why pay more when you can get the things you want cheaply?”
Bargains are aplenty as there are more than 500 stores selling a variety of products and services at this shopping centre. There are also entertainment centres for shoppers who have a soft spot for amusement.
For technology junkies, one of the upper floors is dedicated to computers and gadgets that will surely make you smile. The uppermost floor was recently refurbished and is now home to speciality outlets like toy shops and pet shops.
There are also numerous stalls, mainly for those who are looking for new cell phones. Do look around before settling for one as you could get a good bargain if you put in the effort.
After a long day of shopping, the plaza’s eateries serve everything from fast food to local cuisine and international fare that could make your tummies happy.
Sungai Wang Plaza also often has events at the main hall to attract crowds — from movie and concert promotions to new product launches.
With its strategic location in the tourist belt and close to many offices, the mall is filled throughout the week.
Everyone from tourists to families can be seen within its corridors and outlets at any time of the day. On the weekends, the throngs of visitors get even larger.
